Scott Glasgow is a street and social documentary photographer based in Glasgow and working predominantly across Scotland and Ireland, he uses photography to explore the political impact of everyday urban life through an ethical social documentary approach. Through the lens he captures the quiet truths and raw beauty of everyday life. The work is rooted in social realism, driven by a deep belief in the power of photography to connect, to witness, and to care.
Drawn to people and places that tell stories of resilience, joy, struggle, and change. Whether documenting a political protest, a community celebration, or a fleeting moment on a city street, he aims to preserve the emotional of the scene. Using a candid style allows him to step gently into these moments, capturing them as they unfold, unfiltered and real.
Photography is more than a craft for Scott, it’s a way of seeing, of listening, and of being present. It supports personal wellbeing and is a vehicle with which to engage meaningfully with the world. Scott is especially passionate about working with individuals, community groups, and voluntary organisations to create visual narratives that matter. Together, there is potential to build a photographic language that speaks to your values, your mission, and your truth.
You’ll find a sample of his work in the Portfolio and Gallery pages from projects of various lengths. Each image is a piece of a larger story, a thread in the fabric of shared human experience. Scott also shares thoughts and process through the blog and YouTube channel, with the hope to spark conversation, reflection, and connection.
Though based in Scotland, he has worked across the UK and Europe, the streets of Glasgow and Dublin to the alleys of Brussels and the ports of Helsinki. Wherever he is, Scott carries the same intention: to see with empathy, and to photograph with human compassion.
We all have a story to tell, can Scott help tell yours?
I hope you enjoy the website.
Scott
