Why a documentary wedding photographer?

Scott is a Glasgow based wedding photographer, having covered culturally diverse celebrations in a documentary manner, delivering the story of your day in photographic form.

Each wedding is unique and therefore your photographs should also be unique. My approach is to record all the elements of your day in beautiful and natural photographs that when put together transports you back to that day, time and time again. I am not just there as your photographer, I am experiencing the feeling of the day you have been meticulously planning. This means when it comes to editing and curating the story of your day I can draw out that emotion through visual storytelling and music. To see the end result check out the photo film on this page, but remember, each day is different.

I make a visual record of the day as it actually happens, no posed uncomfortable shots, no time stolen from your guests, no cliché. You get to fully enjoy the day you have been planning, interacting with the people you’ve chosen to share a special moment in time with whilst I unobtrusively record it for you to look back on for years to come.

No latest trends, just a timeless record of the moments and people to cherish.

My joy comes when couples look at the images for the first time and start to piece together all the special moment that made your day wonderful.

As a photographer I look for the moments, the laughter, the connection and the light. All of these make for photographs you will want to look back on time and time again much like the family photographs of the past, that connect and make memories forever.

I prefer black and white images due to the timeless nature of that format but can also provide colour images with me often choosing a mix for the final edit.

Together, we move through your day making and capturing once in a lifetime moments forever. The parents, grandparents, friends and family, young and old as everyone has a magical day, why break that up when you can have it done seamlessly?

  • What is most important to me is the same as all the other people invited to share your day, that you have the best day ever and I get the privilege to share and capture it for you.

Full Day Wedding Packages From £1500

This is your full day coverage, of prep, ceremony, candid natural photography throughout which allows you to enjoy your wedding day and special guests, remaining through to the cake cutting and 1st dances, and beyond.

£250 reserve the date fee at time of booking will be deducted from the final balance.

Half Day Wedding Packages From £800

I will develop a schedule with you beforehand to make sure the important part of your day is captured, this would normally include arrival of guests and the couple, the ceremony, detail shots and candid coverage of the early celebrations (4-5hrs)

Small Wedding Packages From £450

Are you planning a relaxed wedding in Glasgow with immediate family or friends? Or an intimate elopement in Scotland?

Where the story of your day comes to life.

Documentary storytelling does not end on the day of your wedding, I will then edit the images into curated photo film which captures the day as it unfolded. All the details, the people, relationships, emotion and fun of the day for you to revisit at any time.
Glasgow Documentary Photography has a core belief of authenticity from start to finish, working with intention, with passion, and with people at the heart of it all. Every detail here reflects that mindset.

Steven and Gedaina came together in marriage in the beautiful setting of Kelburn castle and estate, North Ayrshire, Scotland. It was a multicultural wedding with Steven from Scotland and Gedaina, Brazil. The wedding photographs in a documentary style tell the story of their day, the people, the moments and emotion. Generally I work in candid moments, not interrupting the day. The final edit is what you can expect when you book me to document your day, each day is different and will be put together with music that reflects the vibe of each stage in the day.
